New Taipei City is located at the hub of Northern Taiwan, where land (i.e., the Taiwan High Speed Rail, Taiwan Railways Administration, Taipei Metro, Freeways 1 and 3, and expressways), sea (i.e., the Port of Keelung and Port of Taipei), and air (i.e., the Taipei Songshan Airport and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport) transport merge. Together, they have created a golden triangle of land, sea, and air transport in Northern Taiwan, enabling New Taipei City to serve a center of international culture. Because both Freeway 1 (i.e., the Sun Yat-sen Freeway) and Freeway 3 pass through New Taipei City, the city has become a catalyst driving the overall economic development of Northern Taiwan, a hub joining East Asia and China together, and a key location facilitating communication between Eastern and Western nations.
New Taipei City is Taiwan's largest city and has one sixth of Taiwan's total population. It contains or neighbors the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport, Port of Keelung, and Port of Taipei. By combining the "three horizontals and three verticals" network of freeways and expressways and the "three rings and three lines" with existing urban roads, New Taipei City can be developed into a golden corridor belt benefiting many industries. Development attempts along Freeway 1 primarily focus on emerging industries such as the biotechnology technology, in which districts including Xizhi, Xinzhuang, and Wugu serve as major districts of development. Development endeavors along the Freeway 3 emphasize the promotion of semiconductors, video display, digital technology industry-based research and development, productions, and manufacturing, in which districts including Tucheng, Zhonghe, Xindian, and Shenkeng serve as main districts of development. The New Taipei City government strives to build New Taipei City into a business-friendly international city, where the development model of "three sectors, one system" (i.e., combining transportation, professional industry, and city into one) is utilized to transform New Taipei City into Taiwan's production and marketing hub.
New Taipei City is located at the hub of Northern Taiwan and features a great deal of key transportation infrastructure, including the Port of Keelung (in the north), the Port of Taipei (in the west), the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (in the south), the Taipei Metro, the Taiwan Railways Administration, the Taiwan High Speed Rail, expressways, and Freeways 1 and 3.
Currently, the Bali–Xindian Line, Provincial Highway 61, the branch lines of Provincial Highway 61, Provincial Highway 65, Provincial Highway 1 Elevated Line, and the New Taipei, Dahan River, and Xindian Central River Expressways have been built. The high-speed road network is approximately 200 km long in total, and is connected to freeways, airports, and ports. It can elevate businesses' connections with the rest of Taiwan and the world.
