InvesTaiwan on the 16th and today (17th) approved additional investments in Taiwan by 10 companies, including Gudeng Precision Industrial Co., Ltd. and Elite Material Co., Ltd. under the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan; Taimide Technology Incorporation under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations; Deda Biotech Co., Ltd., Ichiku Enterprise Co., Ltd., Dinghe Seasoning Co., Ltd., Doyoubo Industry Co., Ltd., Hong Chiang Technology Co., Ltd., Seedz Malls Properties, Inc., and Linfan Co., Ltd. under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs. At present, the three major programs for investing in Taiwan have attracted over NT$2.5008 trillion in investments from 1,643 companies, and will create 159,791 domestic employment opportunities. A total of 331 Taiwanese businesses invested approximately NT$1.3511 trillion under the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan, and created 91,035 employment opportunities. A total of 203 domestic corporations invested approximately NT$589.8 billion under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations, and created 28,621 employment opportunities. The Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs attracted 1,109 SMEs to invest a total of approximately NT$559.9 billion, and created 40,135 employment opportunities. The applications of 25 companies are currently pending review.
Seedz Malls Properties, Inc. was transformed from Chuan Shang Tea Store, a century-old tea brand, and focuses on the accommodation and catering industries. Its South Garden Hotels and Resorts provides travelers with a premium vacation experience through excellent hot spring facilities and a wide range of fitness facilities. To meet high-end business needs, Seedz invested over NT$21 billion to build the "South Garden Multi-functional International Hot Spring Hotel" in Zhongli, Taoyuan, combining hot springs, boutique shopping, health, food, business, and leisure activities to attract international tourists. It will also bring in Michelin restaurants to create an exquisite tourism experience. The hotel integrates smart technology and green energy concepts, and introduces AI robots to improve service efficiency, in order to help Taiwan become the benchmark for exquisite tourism in Asia.
Taimide Technology Incorporation is one of the world's leading manufacturers of polyimide film. Its main product applications include flexible boards, heat dissipation, insulation, high-frequency, high-speed and optical materials. The company's first application for the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations was in 2020. In response to its global market strategy and customer needs, it will invest another NT$700 million in a second project to expand a new polyimide film production line. This investment will advance smart manufacturing technology and improve production efficiency and product quality through data integration and production process automation. In addition to strengthening its production capacity, the company is also actively implementing green manufacturing by installing solar power generation systems, comprehensively using heat recovery equipment, and investing in the replacement and modification of low-carbon emission equipment, so as to achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction goals. Taimide Technology Incorporation will continue to implement sustainable manufacturing and assist in industrial upgrade and environmental protection.
Gudeng Precision Industrial Co., Ltd. specializes in protection and transmission equipment for photomasks and wafers in the semiconductor manufacturing process. It is also a key partner of global semiconductor leaders in innovative technologies for key materials. To develop a local semiconductor supply chain alliance in Taiwan, the company plans to build a new wafer cassette production line, establish an aerospace product manufacturing base, and build a new plant with highly automated production equipment and environment monitoring systems to achieve smart manufacturing. In addition, the new plant will be installed with solar power generators, implement an energy management system, and recycle all defective materials for energy conservation and carbon reduction. With Taiwan as its core, the company will expand its semiconductor and aerospace businesses into the global market to realize its vision of sustainable development.
Elite Material Co., Ltd. is the world's leading manufacturer of halogen-free PCB and high-speed copper clad laminate. It has over 70% market share in the smartphone and AI server markets, and over 50% market share in the switch, high-end laptop, and advanced driver assistance system markets. The company has 7 production bases around the world, located in Taiwan, China, Malaysia, and the United States. The company has developed different grades of materials from Mid. Loss to Extreme Low Loss that are highly recognized by the market, and have obtained more than 250 patents worldwide. Elite Material Co., Ltd. plans to invest over NT$8 billion to build a high-cleanliness semiconductor-grade modernized plant in Dayuan District, Taoyuan City, and introduce automated and intelligent production processes to further consolidate its competitive advantages and R&D technology.
Deda Biotech Co., Ltd. is a professional ODM and OEM of commercial and household cleaning agents. Its products are used in major hotels and central kitchens in the hospitality industry. Its own brand HOSAY uses highly effective surfactants made from recycled plastic bottles, combined with Taiwan's goodwill foods, to develop eco-friendly household detergents, achieving resource recycling and reuse. Deda will invest over NT$100 million to upgrade its plant in Zhulu, Taoyuan to improve production capacity and quality. The plant's equipment will be used with a PLC control system, and smart management systems, such as ERP, MES, and SCADA, will be installed. It will further utilize AIoT technology to create data-based smart production lines that comply with cosmetics GMP and food cleaner GHP, thereby ensuring process safety and stability. At the same time, the plant is planned with wind power generators to move towards the goal of becoming a carbon neutral site. Deda strives to become a benchmark for green cleaning through a number of measures with sustainable development as its core.
Ichiku Enterprise Co., Ltd. is a professional vacuum forming plant that produces special load-bearing trays and blisters for technology and medical use. Its packaging materials have obtained ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications, and are used by many listed electronics and medical companies in Taiwan in shipping and exports. The company's current plant does not have sufficient capacity to meet demand, so Ichiku Enterprise Co., Ltd. will invest nearly NT$100 million to build a new plant in Shalu District, Taichung City. The new plant will be installed with smart fully-automated production equipment, solar power equipment, and energy management systems to improve production efficiency and implement energy conservation and carbon reduction strategies. In addition, the plant will also implement the circular economy model to ensure 100% recycling and reuse of scraps, setting an example for the green transformation of the manufacturing industry, and creating momentum for a sustainable global supply chain.
Dinghe Seasoning Co., Ltd. focuses on powder processing products and customized needs. Its main products include fried chicken powder, tapioca, and pepper salt, which have obtained ISO22000 certification. The company is the tapioca supplier of the well-known hand-shaken beverage brand Milkshop, supplying high-quality tapioca products.The company will invest NT$400 million to build a new plant in Xuejia District, Tainan City to meet the market demand for the instant tapioca it developed.The new plant will use spiral IQF rapid freezing technology,automated tapioca cooking system, and smart monitoring platform to realize a smart automated production line. At the same time, it will integrate IoT technology to optimize production processes and improve efficiency. In addition, the company plans to install solar panels on the roof of the plant, and will install a permanent magnet variable frequency screw air compressor, showing its business philosophy that utilizes innovative design to become more eco-friendly.
Doyoubo Industry Co., Ltd. specializes in traditional brewing of soy sauce. Its brand "Doyoubo" uses 100% non-GMO soybeans, black beans and wheat produced in Taiwan, and products regularly pass SGS inspections to meet safety and health requirements. The company submitted its first application for the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs in 2020. The company submitted a second application due to not having enough warehousing and sales space. The company plans to invest nearly NT$300 million to build a new plant in Zhutian Township, Pingtung County. The design incorporates energy conservation and carbon reduction concepts, including the use of high performance insulating coatings, installation of solar panels on the roof, and the use of energy-saving industrial ceiling fans. An intelligent management system will be installed for warehouse and office space management, not only to improve efficiency, but also strengthen food safety. The company is actively improving the traceability of products to show new value of innovation and environmental protection in traditional industries.
Hong Chiang Technology Co., Ltd. is one of the leading brands in the smart food delivery equipment industry, and its patented products - Shinkansen food delivery trains and food delivery robots are exported to markets around the world. Hong Chiang Technology Co., Ltd. announced an investment of over NT$400 million to build a smart factory in Fengyuan District, Taichung City, in order to drive the industry's innovation, digital transformation, and global layout. The smart factory will introduce cutting-edge smart technologies, including the SAP Business AI ERP system, automatic warehousing and feeding systems, and automatic control laser cutting machines, which will comprehensively improve the efficiency and accuracy of smart manufacturing and realize a digital and professional production model. Solar panels and a water-cooled air-conditioning system will be installed in the factory to achieve the sustainability concept of green energy saving and carbon reduction.
Linfan Co., Ltd. provides consumers with a one-stop shopping service on its home decoration platform. The company will invest over NT$600 million to establish a headquarters in Tanzi District, Taichung City, in order to improve its efficiency and meet customization needs. It created the "Linfan One-stop Home Decoration Platform" to integrate suppliers of home decoration, furniture, home appliances, and smart homes, solving the problems of market fragmentation and cumbersome services. The new headquarters covers an area of more than 10,000 square meters and has a smart warehouse, furniture showroom, and AI R&D center. It will install an automated warehousing system and intelligent warehouse management system to digitalize operations. This will not only improve the efficiency of its supply chain, but also provide flexible support to partners to further enhance their market competitiveness. At the same time, Linfan actively supports the development of green energy by installing solar panels on the roof of its headquarters, incorporating the sustainable development concept of green energy.
