InvesTaiwan today (23rd) approved the additional investment of 3 companies, including a display company under the “Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan” and TMP Steel Corporation and Ruth Cleaning Technology Co., Ltd. under the “the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs.” At present, the three major programs for investing in Taiwan have attracted over NT$2.3424 trillion in investments from 1,528 companies, and will create 153,752 domestic employment opportunities. A total of 315 Taiwanese businesses invested approximately NT$1.2953 trillion under the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan, and created 88,335 employment opportunities. A total of 1022 SMEs invested approximately NT$484.6 billion under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs, and created 37,126 domestic employment opportunities. The applications of 19 companies are still pending review.
The major optoelectronics company manufactures display products in Taichung and provides system-integrated display solutions. Its products are mainly used for industrial control and cover medical, home appliances, automotive, and network communications industries. The company plans to build a headquarters and R&D center and expand production lines in Taichung City, in order to further enhance its competitiveness. The company will introduce an intelligent operating system and automation equipment to upgrade its R&D, and use AI technology to assist in product testing and optimize production efficiency and quality. The company plans to obtain a green building label for the new headquarters, and will install solar power generation facilities and a rainwater recycling system. It will actively compile its carbon footprint and greenhouse gas inventory, and dedicate its efforts to implementing eco-friendly green production.
TMP Steel Corporation is confident in Taiwan's investment environment and future economic development. After applying to build plants under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs in 2021 and 2023, it submitted a third application to invest in Taiwan this year, and plans to build an intelligent steel bar processing plant in Yongkang Industrial Park in Tainan. It will purchase automation equipment and use digital management technology to effectively improve productivity, and will install solar power generation facilities and use energy-efficient air conditioning in the factory area, dedicating its efforts to environmental sustainability. The investment amount is approximately NT$400 million and will create 35 domestic employment opportunities.
Ruth Cleaning Technology Co., Ltd. started as a traditional cleaner 30 years ago. Optimistic about the development of Taiwan's high-tech industry, it transformed its business from general cleaning to cleaning and manufacturing cleanroom suits and shoes, gradually becoming the largest cleanroom suit cleaning plant in Taiwan. It is also the largest cleanroom suit cleaning service provider for TSMC. The company plans to expand production capacity in response to customer demand, and plans to expand production lines in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County. It will integrate an intelligent system with equipment to visualize the production schedule, in order to increase output and operating efficiency. In addition, the new production line will use energy-efficient boilers and new washing and drying equipment. It will also have water recycling facilities, in hopes of becoming a model factory for energy conservation and carbon reduction, and continue to be the strongest backing for the high-tech industry. The investment amount is estimated at approximately NT$250 million and will create 50 domestic employment opportunities.
