Geographical location of Pingtung County
Pingtung County is found in the southernmost region of Taiwan. The county is located west of the Dawu Mountains, adjacent to Taitung County, north of the Bashi Channel, east of the Gaoping River, and south of the Gaoshu Township. In terms of government, the county is administered separately from the Kaohsiung City. Regarding the geographical position of Pingtung County, it faces Shiungfong Mountain (Wutain Township) to the east, the western end of Xiaoliuqiu to the west, the southern end of Qixingyan (Hengchuen Township) to the south, and the northern end of Jiuliao Village (Gaoshu Township) to the north. The county, from north to south and from east to west is 112 km and 47 km long, respectively. The entire county occupies 2775.6003 km2 in area.
