Despite an anticipated slowing of the global economy, foreign procurement in Taiwan is likely to increase by 10% in 2008 and reach
USD 90 billion, according to Minister of Economic Affairs Steve Chen.
A survey of international procurement offices of foreign
IT companies in Taiwan showed that foreign procurement in Taiwan in 2007 totaled
USD 81.2 billion, a 10.78% increase over the previous year. The survey was conducted by the Institute for the Information Industry's Market Intelligence Center.
The most common procurement items include computer components, mobile phones, flat panel monitors, and consumer electronics.
