The unemployment rate dropped to 3.92% in October from 3.99% in Sept. as the number of first-time job seekers declined, according to the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics (DGBAS).
The unemployment rate in Oct. showed a slight year-on-year increase. From Jan. to Oct. the average unemployment rate was 3.92%, remaining unchanged from last year, and the lowest in seven years.
From Jan. to Oct, the average number of employed persons was 10.28 million persons, a 1.88% year-on-year increase, and the highest in the past three years.
The labor participation rate from Jan. to Oct. reached 58.24%, rising 0.37 percentage points to make this the highest level for the period in 10 years.
