The YKK Group, the Japan-based major supplier of fastening products, will start to procure electronic and machinery components in Taiwan, according to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
The company, which will hold a sample exhibition of its needed components for manufacturers in Taiwan on Feb. 8 and 9, is expected to make yearly procurements of approximately 670 million Yen in electronic components and 250 million Yen in machinery components.
YKK, which posts an annual business volume of over 500 billion Yen, started purchasing components in Taiwan last year in a bid to reduce costs, and has seen favorable results, said TAITRA.
The company's Taiwan procurement will supply all divisions of the YKK Group with equipment and moldings, according to TAITRA.
