The Ottawa chapter of the North America Taiwanese Engineers Association and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office have jointly planned a Taiwan-Canada forum on energy development and environmental technology, to be held from August 19-20 at University of Ottawa
Taiwanese and Canadian experts from both the scholastic field and industry sector have been invited to convene in Ottawa to discuss topics covering all types of renewable energy, the development and applications of energy conserving technology, and recent research in ocean conservation.
Special reports will be presented by Chan Shih-hung, Chairman of the Taiwan Renewable Energy Industry Promotion Association and former dean of Yuan Ze University; and professors from National Taiwan University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Sun Ya-Tsen University. Experts from University of Ottawa, Natural Resources Canada, and Ballard Power Systems among others will contribute their knowledge of related developments in Canada.
Forum topics include the following: renewable energy – fuel cells, wind power, hydroelectric power and bio-energy; energy conserving technology – energy conserving architecture, policies and regulations for energy conservation, and research of new development technology for oil; ocean conservation technology – air pollution, aquaculture, and natural gas conservation.
