Notebook computer manufacturer Inventec recently added Fujitsu Siemens to its list of major clients, which include HP and Toshiba, having receiving orders for a shipment in Q4.
Fujitsu Siemens is looking to raise its profile in the notebook market, and to this end has focused its OEM/ODM strategy on manufacturers in Taiwan, which also include Wistron and Uniwill. Recent statistics show that Fujitsu Siemens yielded a Q1 output of 1.138 million units, comprising 6.3% of the global market.
With this first order, Inventec's relationship with Fujitsu Siemens has the potential to extend to servers and other products, according to a report in the Economic Daily News.
Inventec sees much potential in the smartphone market and holds an
R&D team of nearly 200 people, and expects to extend its client base even further, said the report.
