Nike is expanding its cooperation with shoe manufacturers in Taiwan with the construction of several new
R&D facilities.
The Pou Chen Group and Feng Tay Enterprise will each build and house
R&D centers for Nike, to be located at the respective companies' headquarters.
Pou Chen, which produces nearly 40% of Nike's output, will build
R&D facilities in a 6,000 ping (approx. 19,300 square meters) space at its headquarters in Changhua in central Taiwan. The facilities are expected to be completed by the end of October.
Pou Chen President Cai Nai Feng said, "With the construction of Nike's
R&D Center, higher efficiency can be achieved as it will take just a few minutes to transfer our knowledge and discoveries to our factories abroad."
Feng Tay, which produces around 20% of Nike's output, is building an
R&D Center for Nike at its headquarters in Touliu in Yunlin County, which will also provide office space for Nike personnel in Taiwan.
