The Industrial Technology Research Institute's Incubator Center won the 2006 Randall M. Whaley Incubator of the Year Award from the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA).
The NBIA's most prestigious award recognizes excellence among incubators around the world.
Located in a 13,000 square meter space in Hsinchu, the
ITRI Incubator Center is dedicated to providing technical support for entrepreneurs seeking to develop technology-based businesses.
ITRI President Johnsee Lee said the center to date has helped create 140 companies at an investment amount of
NTD 47 million.
Past
ITRI-assisted companies include Phison Electronics Corp, which developed the world's first USB flash removable disk.
