Rasa Industries investing additional NTD 300 million in Taichung EPZ

March 10, 2006

Rasa Industries has announced plans to invest NTD 300 million in the construction of a phosphoric acid plant at the Taiwan Rasa Industries site in the Taichung Export Processing Zone, according to the MOEA Export Processing Zone Administration. The Japanese company has chosen to expand its operations in Taichung due to its confidence that Taiwan's flat panel and semiconductor sectors will continue to post impressive growth figures.

With operations set to begin at the new plant in July, the chemical materials maker says that it will produce 20,000 tons of phosphoric acid annually during the first stage of operations at the plant.

Rasa Industries, a company with over 90-years history, produces a highly-pure form of phosphoric acid that is used as an etching liquid in the production of TFT-LCD panels and semiconductors. Taiwan Rasa Industries is a 100%-owned subsidiary of Rasa Industries.
