A survey of office rental costs in 117 major cities around the globe over the previous year shows Taipei's costs to be a good deal compared to other major Asian cities.
The survey, conducted by global real estate adviser DTZ Debenham Tie Leung, ranks Taipei 84th globally for office rental costs. The average annual rental cost in Taipei is
USD 4,600.
Hongkong, where annual rental costs average
USD 15,000, is ranked the third most expensive for offices space in the world. Tokyo is ranked ninth with annual costs of
USD 11,070. Seoul is thirteenth most expensive with annual costs of
USD 9,870.
Other rankings and costs in Asia: Singapore: 77th and
USD 4,770; Shanghai: 81st and
USD 4,710; Beijing: 82nd and
USD 4,680.
DTZ Debenham Tie Leung says that demand for A-class office spaces in Asia is outpacing supply and pushing rental costs higher.
