Ford uses Taiwanese executives to expand in China

January 18, 2006

Ford Lio Ho Motor Co. announced in mid January that vice president of marketing Wesley Liu has been reassigned by Ford Motor Co. as vice president of sales at Changan Ford in China.

Scheduled to begin working in his new capacity in February, Liu will become the first Taiwanese executive to hold a high-level position at the Changan plant. Born in 1966, he is also the youngest person to have held the vice president of marketing position at FLH.

FLH notes that Ford has promoted many FLH executives to positions overseas. Of the over forty executives from FLH that have moved into Ford jobs abroad in recent years, over 80% are in China helping Ford expand its operations there.

FLH vice president of customer services Chang Wei-chang is moving up to fill the spot vacated by Liu.
