Fimat Group launched its Taiwan operations with the opening of a branch office in Taipei in mid October. The investment brokerage aims to act as a bridge for foreign firms hoping to invest in Taiwanese financial derivatives and Taiwanese futures commission merchants seeking access to Fimat's global network.
The recent liberalization of Taiwan's financial markets is a major factor influencing Fimat's decision to set up in Taiwan. The brokerage says that there is great potential in Taiwan's futures market.
Fimat's other Asia Pacific offices are located in Singapore, Hongkong, Korea, Japan, Australia and India.
