Executive Yuan Development Fund to hold conference to discuss "Plan for Digital Content Industry Investment"

As all countries of the world focus their investments on important resources, Taiwan seeks to develop the digital content industry and has listed the digital content industry as part of its National Development Plan.

The Development Fund under the Executive Yuan is holding a conference on digital content industry investment on October 11, 2005. All interested parties are welcome to attend.

To coordinate with the Executive Yuan's policies which call for strengthening the development of the digital content industry in Taiwan, the Development Fund passed the Plan to Invest in the Digital Content, Software, and Cultural and Creative Industries in June. The Plan calls for the allotment of NTD 20 billion within five years for direct investment, investment in venture capital businesses and cooperative ventures with international companies. The funds will be granted as long-term development funds to domestic companies planning to invest in the digital content, software, or cultural and creative industries.

At the conference, the Development Fund will explain the implementation of and application procedures related to the Plan to Invest in the Digital Content, Software, and Cultural and Creative Industries. In addition, the Ministry of Economic Affairs' (MOEA) Digital Content Promotion and Development Office will introduce its investment consulting and guidance services for companies interested in applying for funds under the Development Fund plan. These services will facilitate the effective promotion of government funding support for large-scale investments in the digital content industry and promote investment and development in the digital content for the entire industry.
