The Council of Economic Planning and Development in September announced the allocation of an additional
NTD 600 million to extend its young entrepreneurs financing program, which has been helping young businesspeople in Taiwan since 1968. Since its initiation, the program has seen over
NTD 23 billion in financing extended to young businesspeople. These loans have given wings to the business dreams of 25,588 young people and created 128,916 jobs.
In addition to creating jobs, tapping the energy and creativity of young people brings innovation and diversity to Taiwan's business community.
Over the course of the program the government has made numerous adjustments and lowered interest rates. In May, qualification criteria for the program were further relaxed. These loans are available to businesspeople aged 20 to 45 years old with work experience that have received certification through a government training program.
