Japanese restaurant group Y's table Corp. is set to open its premier XEX restaurant in the Taipei Financial Center (aka Taipei 101) at the end of January 2006, company executives said while leading the company's top chefs and designers on a visit to the skyscraper in early September. Y's table is expected to invest over
NTD 800 million in this Taipei venture, its first in Taiwan.
XEX in Taipei 101 will serve top-of-the-line Italian and Japanese cuisine in addition to hosting a lounge bar. However, this high-class dining and drinking experience will come at a price, as each patron will end up paying at least
NTD 3,000 per meal.
While Taipei's XEX will be similar to the XEX headquarters restaurant on the top floor of Tokyo's famous Mori Tower, Y's table executives said they intend to create an even posher atmosphere in Taipei.
Y's table investors include Japan's second largest commercial firm Mitsui and Co. and first largest life insurer Daiichi Mutual Life Insurance Co.
