Watsons, operator of the world's largest number of drug and cosmetics retail outlets, plans to boost the number of its outlets in Taiwan to over 400 by opening another 90 outlets by the end of the year.
After opening 70 new outlets in 2004, Watsons presently runs 321 stores in Taiwan.
Watsons Taiwan says that, as of mid May, it has already signed lease contracts for 61 stores, and will have these new stores running as soon as remodeling work in completed.
Watsons will implement a new strategy designed for its operations throughout Asia in August. This plan will introduce Watsons' "Fourth Generation Store" to Taiwan and other nations in Asia.
