Standard & Poor's and Taiwan's Chinese-language Smart Magazine announced the winners of the Standard & Poor's Taiwan Investment Funds Awards 2005 in mid March. Franklin Templeton Investments came away with six awards, making it the big winner among foreign investment firms in Taiwan just ahead of Fidelity Investments which earned five awards. Uni-President Asset-Management Corp. led other domestic firms with a total of three awards.
For these annual awards, firms were evaluated based on their performance over the last three, five and ten years up to the end of December 2004. This year, 44 awards were presented to 24 companies. A total of 1,035 foreign and domestic investment firms were considered for this year's awards.
Franklin's Templeton Developing Markets Trust Fund achieved a 76.91% rate of return over three years.
Uni-President received its three awards for its President All Weather Fund, which posted a rate of return of 124.74%, Tunsin Fund and President OTC Fund.
