Daan District was the hottest housing market of any district in Taipei City in 2004, according to the results of a housing market index presented by Sinyi Realty. Wenshan District and Neihu District had the second and third strongest housing markets in Taipei. As for Taipei County, Banchiao City's housing market moved into the number one spot, with Chungho City and Yungho City close behind.
Daan has been the undisputed leader of Taipei's housing market for years running. Sinyi analysts attribute the continued strength of this market to the district's exceptional living environment. Many good schools and fine homes are located in Daan District, and transportation and shopping conditions are rated ideal.
While Chungho City has led Taipei County for the previous two years, Banchiao was the strongest housing market in the county in 2004. Sinyi says the main reason for the rise of Banchiao is the construction of the Banchiao-Nangang MRT line, which links Banchiao to some of Taipei City's most popular commercial areas.
Sinyi's housing market index is based on the level of housing sales, sales ratios and the speed of sales. Sinyi Realty is Taiwan's only listed realtor. In the mid 1990s, it expanded into China, where it already operates at least 55 real estate offices in Shanghai and Zhejiang Province. It intends to open 1,500 offices in China over the next seven years.
