Educational Certification No Longer Required for Foreign Employees of Multinationals Entering Taiwan for Short-term Professional Jobs
The Council of Labor Affairs has moved to meet corporate operating needs by announcing a relaxation of rules for the hiring of foreigners to enter Taiwan for up to 90 days to carry out professional or technical work without having to submit the foreigners' educational certification. The provision covers those who come to Taiwan to engage in coaching, sports, religious, artistic, or performance tasks, or employees who have worked for a multinational for at least one year and are dispatched to Taiwan to carry out such contractual obligations as taking up job duties or engaging in buying and selling, technical cooperation, or other contract-performance tasks.
