Services and Responsibilities

The DOIS's current mission is to promote foreign investment in Taiwan, assist Taiwan companies investing abroad and recruit science and technology personnel. In order to assist foreign companies and Taiwan businesses overseas, the DOIS serves as a liaison between businesses and the Taiwan government, and maintains "service contact windows" to facilitate communication between foreign companies and Taiwan businesses, and government agencies and consulate offices abroad. The DOIS's work is divided into eight general categories:

  1. Promotion of domestic and overseas investment and technical cooperation;
  2. Provision of guidance and assistance for outward investment;
  3. Study of investment projects;
  4. Researching and compiling information relevant to investment opportunities;
  5. Promotion of investment projects, follow-up, and removal of investment obstacles;
  6. Publishing of investment environment guides and information on investment laws and regulations;
  7. Technical cooperation between domestic and foreign companies, and introduction of technical personnel from overseas;
  8. Promotion and liaison regarding bilateral and multilateral investment matters.

To strengthen its services for foreign and Taiwanese companies, to provide information on investment in Taiwan, and to provide assistance with upgrading of industrial technology, the DOIS has set up the following websites:
